4 years ago tomorrow

Laban and I met four years ago on November 13, 2010. I had just returned to Nairobi from a two-week work trip to Rwanda and West Africa and was ready to be back in Kenya. I met up with my good friends Elise, Sarah, Moses, and Mark and we decided to go out on the town for some dancing! Laban and his cousins, Victoria and Faiz had a somewhat similar plan and the two groups found each other on the dance floor of Black Diamond. Needless to say, Laban and I were impressed by each other’s moves and the rest is history! We went out on our first date the following weekend and talked philosophy, religion, and politics over some kuku wet fry and ugali at a popular restaurant called The Garden (sadly now closed).

Maybe we’ll relive our first dates this weekend! 🙂

3 months in

Yesterday was our 3 month anniversary! It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed since we got married though it might have to do with the fact that the day after we returned to Kenya from our honeymoon, we went back to work. 🙂

Laban continues to push on with Ma3Route and KEMSA work and Angela recently returned from a three week trip to the continental US to speak at the Center for the Prevention of Genocide at the Holocaust Museum, the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University, and RightsCon 2014. It was a great trip but she is happy to be back. 😉

We are looking forward to Easter break coming up in a few weeks time! Let us know what you are up to and what you think we should do:

  • Arusha, Tanzania
  • Mombasa, Kenya
  • Baringo, Kenya
  • somewhere else…?
